Now approximately 27KM long and 600M deep, the Tasman Glacier is melting and calving at an exponential ly increasing rate. In recent years the Tasman Glacier has change from a melting to a calving and melting terminus, resulting in a terminal lake that is rapidly in size.

庫克山隱士飯店，位於海拔將近600 公尺的山谷中，視野遼闊，一望無際，周邊被3000公尺以上的高山環繞，飯店位置正對紐西蘭最高峰 庫克山 （Mt. COOK）

塔斯曼(Tasman) 冰河山谷，就是普卡基湖的上游。

進入塔斯曼（Tasman) 冰河山谷，在冰河嚮導的帶領下，穿上安全裝備，走到冰河湖前緣，隨後轉撘乘小船悠遊於寶藍色冰河湖中，接近紐西蘭最大的冰河，欣賞、聆聽冰河融化掉入湖中的奇景及澎湃的聲音。

救生衣要牢牢的穿上，破冰嚮導會再度確認。
